Our Story

Built from the inside of a lawsuit.

We're not a tech company that discovered real estate. We're landlords who got burned — and built the tool we wish we'd had.

Ministers · Landlords · Minnesota

We were working landlords — full-time jobs, a ministry, and a handful of rental properties we were managing ourselves. We downloaded what looked like an official lease from the state website, used it for years, and thought we were doing everything right.

We weren't. That lease had a provision that was the subject of dozens of active lawsuits. We got sued. Multiple times. We won every case — and spent tens of thousands of dollars winning.

What we didn't expect was what God did in the middle of it. He gave us joy and peace through every battle. Not because it didn't cost us — it did — but because He was teaching us. Out of that season came the lessons, the systems, and ultimately LevelLandlord.

"Honest scales and balances belong to the Lord; all the weights in the bag are of his making."
Proverbs 16:11
"In the multitude of counselors there is victory."
Proverbs 24:6
"The Lord gave us joy and peace through every battle — and turned it into something we could give away."

The lawsuits were hard. The legal fees were real. But what struck us looking back was this: God didn't remove us from the situation — He walked us through it with a peace that didn't make sense on paper. Shanriell and I would talk about it regularly. We weren't consumed by it the way you'd expect.

In that space, we learned. We learned how to read a lease. How to track changes in landlord-tenant law. How to manage our properties like a real business. Those lessons became guides. The guides became a platform. LevelLandlord was built in that fire — in Minnesota, for working landlords everywhere who deserve the same foundation we had to build the hard way.

Let me level with you

The trials were not the end of the story. They were the curriculum. If you're in a hard season right now — a bad tenant, a legal dispute, a costly repair — we've been there. You can come out of it with wisdom, not just wounds. That's what this platform is for.

"The joy of the Lord is your strength." — Nehemiah 8:10

Three types of landlords. One platform.

Self-Manager
The Working Landlord
You have a full-time job and a few rental properties on the side. You're doing it yourself to build wealth for your family — you just need the right tools to do it well and stay legally protected.
Replacing a PM
Ready to Self-Manage
You're paying a property manager 8–10% of rent and wondering what you're getting for it. LevelLandlord gives you the systems to take it back — tenant portals, lease management, maintenance tracking — at a fraction of the cost.
Full-Time PM
The Property Manager
Property management is your business. You need software that doesn't nickel-and-dime you per feature, doesn't require enterprise contracts, and was built by someone who actually understands what you do every day.

Built on stewardship, not software.

We invest so we can give. We build tools so other landlords can do the same — without the mistakes we made.

01
Integrity First
We build our platform like we manage our properties — honestly, accurately, and with our name on it. No hidden fees. No inflated pricing.
02
For Landlords Like Us
Whether you self-manage on the side, are ready to drop your property manager, or run PM as your full-time business — we built this for you. Not for corporate real estate. For you.
03
Stay Legal
The lawsuit that started all this could have been avoided with one update. We track legal news so you don't have to learn the hard way.
04
Flat, Fair Price
$2 per unit per month. Whether you have 1 unit or 100, the math stays simple and inflation won't touch our rate.

Tools built by a landlord. Priced like one too.
